I barely got this Welcome to Colorful Colorado sign. It looks like we were welcomed to Orful Olorado! :)
As we crossed into Colorado, the terrain was a lot flatter
and we noticed more agriculture.
We stayed at La Mesa RV Park, another Passport America park,
where we received a 50% discount off the nightly rate. There were several sites to choose from. Our biggest challenge was getting a site
where we could get out with satellite so we could watch the UT-Alabama football
game on Saturday. The first site we
chose had a tree limb right smack dab in front of where the satellite dish
needed to point plus it was not very level.
After manuevering the RV on the site and working with the satellite dish
for what seemed like an hour, we gave up and moved to a site way out in the
open.
We had not eaten lunch and it was getting later in the
afternoon. We decided to try out a local
Mexican restaurant for what we call lupper (lunch+dinner combination). The
food was very good and the portions were so large that we ate only half and
took half home to have for dinner Saturday night.
Since the weather forecast was predicting temperatures
dipping below freezing, Chuck added some fresh water to the tank and
disconnected the water hose.
While Chuck was outside, he noticed we were getting a very
beautiful sunset and took several pictures.
Sadly, our Tennessee Volunteers lost again to Alabama on Saturday. Maybe next year!
