Bike ride to Venice and Muscle Beach

On Monday morning, we got up early and walked about 5 miles along the Marvin Braude Bike Trail that ran right in front of the RV Park.

Except for a few bike riders and some seagulls, the trail and the beach was fairly deserted.

Larry and Laura rode their bikes from their house down to us and then we all rode north on the Marvin Braude Bike Trail up to Venice Beach.  One of the best things about biking with friends is you get to talk and visit as you are biking and you don't notice the pain in your legs or what you are sitting on as much.  :)  Before we knew it, we were at Muscle Beach.

Since it was a Monday, there was only a couple of guys working out.

We thought about pumping a little iron too but we didn't want to show up these guys.  :)

We walked around and people-watched for a little while...

...and then began looking for a place to eat our picnic lunch as we headed back.  We passed by this very unusual beach house.

Laura found a nice little fountain with some benches around it where we parked our bikes and ate our lunch.

After resting a few minutes more, we got on our bikes and headed back south.  We followed along and then crossed over Balloona Creek again...

...and could see Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey behind us.

We finished our 15 mile bike ride back at the Dockweiler RV Park and then later that evening we went to dinner with Larry and Laura and Matt, Kelsey and Levi.  Levi is so cute and has the most precious smile!  What was so funny is that he crawls just like his cousin Avery.  It was a wonderful evening and was so great getting to see and visit with them again!
