Bayshore Bikeway

On Friday, we take a bike ride on the Bayshore Bikeway that was near the campground.  The bike trail runs around the southern portion of San Diego Bay.

We went by what I was guessing to be some sort of salt farm.  It almost looks like ice but it is where the water is evaporating.  A tractor would scoop up and load sea salt (?) into the back of the trucks.

Then we headed around the bay.

The wind was against us making the bike ride a little more difficult.  We rode over to Silver Strand State Beach...

That is a big kite in the picture below and is tied to a person kite-surfing in the water.

After leaving Silver Strand State Beach, we rode around on the bay side of the park for a few minutes.

We could see some of the many navy ships docked on the other side of the bay.

As we were riding back across the park, we saw these big jackrabbits hopping around everywhere.  They were huge!

After watching the jackrabbits for a few minutes, we started back and had a much easier bike ride home because the wind was at our backs for most of the way.
