Nice Time in Nashville

After setting one new rat trap in the motorhome and one new trap and 3 of the wooden traps in the basement, we thought surely we would have caught a rat by Saturday morning.  The night was quiet and we slept surprisingly well although I could just imagine Mr. Rat crawling up in bed with us to keep warm.  There were no loud SNAPS during the night and all 5 traps were untouched Saturday morning.

After breakfast, we began setting up and then completely cleaning out the entire basement.  I wiped down every surface with a bleach cleaner while Chuck did a little re-arranging.  By early afternoon, we got cleaned up and headed over to my mom's and then went to Painturo's for lunch for their delicious pizza.  We got all of our laundry caught up at my mom's and visited with her for awhile before heading over to Donald & Anna's to visit with them and Erica, Matt, Graham and Aubrey who were in town for a few days.

After going to church with Donald and Anna on Sunday morning, we just kind of chilled out back at the motorhome and then took a big salad over to my mom's for dinner.  I also began looking at some campgrounds and travel plans for our trip with Ken & Bonnie to the southwest in just a couple of weeks.

We walked Monday morning and then we went to Costco to get a few groceries.  We had received $77 back in annual rewards to be used at Costco and I wondered if we would be able to use it all.  I don't know what I was thinking!  We hardly ever get out of Costco for less than $100.  When we got back home, we began our annual purging of the motorhome and went through all the inside cabinets and closets in the back half of the motorhome.  It's is amazing how quickly we can accumulate a lot more clothes than we need!  Later that day, we took our unneeded clothes over to my mom's to store in her closet and enjoyed a delicious home-cooked spaghetti dinner!  :)

We walked again Tuesday morning and then I went for a hair appointment on Tuesday afternoon.  On Tuesday evening, Rick, Jerry, Pam, Mandy, Jack, Donald & Anna met us and my mom at Fletcher's for their Tuesday night pizza buffet.  It's always fun getting to see everyone and finding out what's going on with everyone.  And Jack just keeps getting bigger and bigger!  :)

Thursday was really busy.  We got up at 5 and took the Honda to Murfreesboro to get the oil and transmission changed.  They were finished by 9 so we went to Waffle House for breakfast.  We ran into Frank Pogue, a salesman we had known for years and had bought every TV and piece of stereo equipment we owned from him when he worked for H H Gregg and then bought a Polaris Ranger after he had gone to work for Sloan's Motorcycle and when we lived at our last house.  Frank is such a nice guy and such a good salesman too -- never pushy.  We told him if he might want to go into selling RV's next!  :)

We spent the rest of Thursday shopping for clothes and walking shoes for Chuck.  He had a hole in the bottom of his walking shoes.  No wonder he was getting blisters!  Later that evening, we went over to Donald and Anna's and played SkipBo and 5 Crowns.

On Friday, we went to dinner at Top Hog in Gallatin.  Chuck and Donald had the fish again and Anna and I had hamburgers again.  It was so good.  After dinner, we went back to Donald and Anna's and Karen and Kevin and Darlene came over.  We had a lot of fun getting caught up on everyone's grandchildren and playing SkipBo and 7-Up.

We finished our purging on Saturday, got caught up on laundry again at my mom's and then enjoyed left-over spaghetti for dinner.  It's even better as left-overs!  We watched the men's basketball tournament too.

We went to church with my mom for Easter Sunday and then back to her house for lunch of Bar-b-cutie barbecue and all the fixins'.  Later that afternoon, we went back to the camper and took a really good nap!  :)

We walked Monday morning and went to the dentist for our annual appointments.  No cavities!  Then, we went back over to Donald & Anna's Monday night to finish off the SkipBo championship.  Donald and I emerged the winners!  And then we played a game of 7-Up with Chuck beating Donald by just one point at the every end of the game.  We also enjoyed some very delicious strawberry shortcake!  Parkesdale Fruit Stand would be in trouble if Anna ever opened up a fruit stand in Plant City, Florida!  :)

Today, we picked up my mom and went to LifeCare Rehab to visit my Uncle John who had just had hip replacement surgery.  We also got to visit with Aunt Milbrey and my cousin Nancy who I had not seen in several years.  Uncle John always keeps us laughing with his stories!  Then we took my mom to dinner at Applebees and then back to her house to watch the girl's basketball tournament and get a couple of more loads of laundry done.

It has been a very quick 10 days in Nashville but so enjoyable!  And except for that one salad I fixed for dinner one night, I don't think I cooked one meal!
