Cookout at Stone Mountain

After church Sunday morning, the Robinsons and the Van Wyngardens came to our campsite at Stone Mountain for a cookout.  We grilled hamburgers for the adults and had hot dogs for the kids along with chips and baked beans.

Aunt Crystal enjoyed holding her little niece Ruby for a few minutes before lunch.

I did manage to get one group picture of everyone while they were eating lunch (or while the moms and dads were taking turns eating lunch).  :)

After the girls finished their lunch, they played around our campsite and the campsite next door.  A lot of campers had pulled out this morning so there was a little more room to play and explore.  Avery and Emmaline explored the big rocks behind the camper...

...while Bell played a little cornhole.

I had bought a Toss 'n Catch yard game for them to play with but I think Avery was more interested in trying to figure out how the racquet was put together.  :)

Crystal took this picture of Bell, Avery and I on the rocks.  Thanks, Crystal!  :)

After all that playing, it was time for dessert:  homemade chocolate ice cream!  Who likes ice cream?
"I do!  I do!"
Avery turned her bowl up to make sure she got every last drop...

...and I think Bell may have even licked her bowl clean!  :)

Crystal and Grant gave Hannah a bite to try...

...and she made a look like she didn't like it...

...but I think it was just because it was the first time she had eaten something as cold as ice cream.  She didn't refuse any bite Crystal gave her!  :)

Even Ruby got to try some homemade chocolate ice cream.

I believe Ruby is going to be an ice cream lover just like her Pa.  Watch Ruby's face on the video below (particularly toward the end) when Tafanie gets a spoonful for herself.

I think homemade chocolate ice cream makes Ruby one happy camper!  Or maybe it was sitting on the orange UT blanket?   :)

Wow!  Five little girls have so much energy!  And homemade chocolate ice cream probably gave them even more!  So the moms and dads took the girls to the playground to play some of that energy off before it was time to head home for naps (hopefully)!

And speaking of naps, Pa and MiMa took a couple of nice naps later that afternoon too!  :)

What a fun, fun day!

  1. Those little granddaughters are so adorable. Looks like everyone had a great time at the cook-out, and then homemade chocolate ice cream for the end to a very special day. Can't beat it!!!!!
