Breakfast and the Dogwood Festival

Saturday morning began with breakfast at Crystal and Grant's house.  Krystle and Kellen had never had chocolate gravy so they decided to fix a big breakfast and asked me to fix chocolate gravy.  Avery helped stir the ingredients together.

We had sausage, bacon, eggs with a special cheese, biscuits, regular gravy and chocolate gravy and fruit.  Krystle and Kellen really liked the chocolate gravy.  I also discovered that chocolate gravy is good for dipping the fruit in.  Kind of like chocolate fondue!  :)

After breakfast and playing with Avery and Hannah for a little while, we came back to the camper for a few hours.  I washed a load of clothes.  The dryer is doing so much better since I ran it through all the cycles that Splendide suggested.

We were back over at Tafanie and Cory's by 4 pm and rode with them and their girls to the annual Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park.  It is a huge festival of artists, music and lots of food that is attended by a lot of people.

We came to a Kenny Chesney "fan" bus where people could go in and write their names on the inside of the bus.

Tafanie, Bell, Emmaline and I went inside the bus and Bell wrote her name on the ceiling of the bus.

Pretty good for a 4 year old!

Emmaline wanted to write on the bus too...

but since she cannot write her name yet, Bell wrote it for her.

We were all getting hungry so we next walked to some of the food booths where Chuck and I got a Sonny's barbecue sandwich and the Van Wyngardens had chinese food except for Ruby who just watched.  :)

We walked on around a little further and then split up from Tafanie and Cory and the girls who headed for the playground...

...while Chuck and I walked on around the festival looking at the different artists' booths.  There was a lot of variation in the different kinds of art for sale (paintings, woodcrafts, pottery, jewelry, etc.); but all of it seemed very expensive.

As we met back up with the VWs, we could look back at the Atlanta skyline which was silhouetted against the lowering sun.

We walked back to the car and the girls played in another playground that was a lot less crowded near where we parked and then we rode back to their house.  After the girls were in bed, we played a new game called Dominion.  It was different and challenging but fun.  Cory emerged the winner and was the one to get to sign their game book.  Congratulations, Cory!  (Rrrrrr.)  :)
