When we returned from our walk, we quickly ate breakfast so we could get to the pickleball courts a little earlier today. There was one court available and we played for over 2 hours thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.
After returning from pickleball, we loaded up the bikes and headed to Casey Key. Ken and Bonnie had driven us down this road when we first arrived but it was much more enjoyable by bike. Casey Key is lined with all styles and sizes and ages of beach homes. We took our time riding our bikes looking at all the amazing homes and the beautiful views of the beach and the bay. Below is a slideshow video for you to watch and enjoy the bike ride too!
We rode our bikes north on Casey Key about 4.5 miles to a favorite restaurant of Ken and Bonnie's: Casey Key Fish House.
...and I had one of their specials of the day: 2 fish tacos with rice and beans. (I remembered to take the picture after I had taken a bite.)
The food was delicious and we enjoyed looking out over the bay.
After our "lupper", we walked over to a Tiki Hut that had some nice big chairs overlooking the bay. (Lupper = lunch+supper)
Someone got real relaxed. :)
Is this a perfect day or what?
There was a very cool 1952 Chevy parked here.
I forgot to show you the also very cool custom bike parked at the Tiki Hut.
By the time we rode our bikes back to the car, we had ridden over 10 miles. We thought it was time for ice cream!
After ice cream, we drove back to the campground. But before going back to our campsites, we stopped and played 2 games of shuffleboard. Ken and Bonnie discovered another use for shuffleboard poles: head or chin rests. :)
You would think we would be exhausted with everything we have done today. But we weren't finished yet! We played one game of Pinochle, one game of Spades, and one game of SkipBo.
Wow! What a fantastic full fun-filled day!
