We're In!

After going to church this morning a couple of miles outside the park, we drove into Sarasota.  We tried to find the Visitor's Bureau to get a map of the area.  We couldn't find the Visitor's Bureau but Ken and Bonnie spotted a couple of newspaper racks that had maps.  Do you think we have enough?

We drove through Sarasota and around St. Armand's Circle to see a little more of Sarasota before heading down to Sweet Tomato's for lunch.  We drove by a statue that was a re-creation of the Life magazine picture of the sailor kissing the nurse when World War II was finally over.

Sweet Tomato's had been recommended by Bonnie's mom and is a restaurant that has an "all-you-can-eat" salad bar plus breads and soups and dessert.  When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by the largest salad bar we had ever seen.

The food was very good and very fresh.  It was a great value for the money but like with all buffets, I think we all felt stuffed when we left which was probably a good thing because our next stop was Costco to pick up some groceries.

Ever since we met Ken and Bonnie, we have become aware of all the good deals they get at Costco.  So we finally decided to become members.  We got our pictures taken for our member cards.

We're in!

We spent the next hour or so at Costco with Ken and Bonnie showing us all the good deals you can find.  We bought a pair of shorts for me, a 1000 lumens flashlight, a rotisserie chicken, and several other grocery items.  With the cash card we got for signing up plus the great prices on the things we bought, we probably have already paid for our membership fee.  Their rotisserie chickens are nearly twice the size as what you get at Wal-Mart but for the same price.

After leaving Costco, we headed back to our campers.  The men got a lot of the "take-down" work done on the campers while the women cleaned the inside.  We were all so full from our "lupper" at Sweet Tomatos that none of us ate any dinner.

We still got together for cards which reminds me that I forgot to mention Chuck's showing Ken and Bonnie his thumb trick a few nights ago.  Ken was very impressed!

Ken and Bonnie were so impressed.  Chuck tried teaching them.

I can't tell you how many times we have laughed until we cried with Ken and Bonnie.  So much fun!

We got back together Sunday night with Ken and Bonnie to play cards.  Tomorrow, we leave Myakka and head for Royal Coachmen RV Park which is only about 30 minutes away.
