With 3 to 4 inches of rain in the forecast, Ken and Bonnie called us early to see if we wanted to get our 10,000 steps in before the rains began. We walked back to the owl's nest and saw an owl fly down out of the nest and then back and then off to another tree. We think it was the male owl.
Of course, I did not have my good camera with me but see if you can see him sitting on the branch below the nest.
How about now.
When we walked across the street to the Pines Section of the campground, we ran into Richard & Bonnie Waltman whom we had met about 2 1/2 years ago at the RV-Dreams Rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania (which is also where we originally met Ken & Bonnie Hosler). Ken & Bonnie have run into Richard & Bonnie a couple of times since the rally but this was our first time to see the Waltmans since the rally. Richard and Bonnie were at Southern Palms this week for a Heartland Rally. We hope to meet up with them some more this week.
The rains began soon after we got our 10,000 steps in. We each rested and caught up on a few things at our campers but by 3 pm, it was time for the games to begin. No rain delay for us. At least not inside! :)
Actually, we ended up chatting for quite a while first and showed them pictures of our house that we sold before we started full-timing. It seems like we always have something to talk about. :)
We played three games of Sequence Dice with the women beating the men 2 games out of 3. We played one round of Pinochle, ate dinner at our respective campers, and then joined back up after dinner to play Pinochle, SkipBo, LCR, and Snitch. Another fun day...with no rain delay! :)
