Island Days

Sunday and Monday were a little slower and more relaxed days staying on the island.  After church in the campground on Sunday morning, Ken & Bonnie and Chuck & I went for about a 3 mile walk out of the campground and across the street through a neighborhood with a few houses scattered about.

We spent a little time at the pool and we also played a little cornhole.  Neil and Nancy came over and played too.  This was their first time to play cornhole.

Chuck had noticed when he was on top of the roof a few days ago trying to determine the source of the noise we were hearing from the rear a/c that the covers of both the a/c's had a couple of cracks on them.  Monday morning, he climbed up on the roof to take the covers off and epoxy the cracks.  Neil was on top of his roof too washing and waxing their RV.

On Monday afternoon, we decided to take a long bike ride down to Saint James City to ride through some of the subdivisions there.

The area is beautiful and most of the houses back up to the canals and have beautiful landscaping.  I liked the palms that lined the street of Buttonwood Key.

We rode out to where we had been in past years where you can buy fish.  There is an empty lot next door that has been for sale since we first came here.  There were some ospreys nesting on a nearby pole...

...and pelicans resting on the poles off the dock at the end of the lot.

Bonnie decided to take a rest too.  :)

We biked about 15 miles that day and then enjoyed getting in the pool for a little while and finished up the evening with card games again.  A couple of relaxing days on Pine Island!
