On Thursday, Ken & Bonnie and Chuck and I took a day trip up to Manasota Beach which is an excellent beach for finding shark's teeth. We also met Ernie and Noela and Bonnie's sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and John there.
It was a nearly perfect day for the beach: sunny and low 80's.
Ken and Bonnie started hunting for shark's teeth right away!
While Chuck was also hunting shark's teeth, I walked a short distance up the beach taking pictures of shells and other things washed up on the beach:
When I returned, I hunted for shark's teeth for a little while with Chuck, and then we decided to eat a little lunch.
After resting a few minutes, Bonnie and Noela started looking for (and finding) shark's teeth in the sand around our chairs.
After lunch, the guys decided to take a walk to the south:
Bonnie and I walked and talked for a ways too but turned around and walked back for a total of about 8,000 steps. The guys kept on walking and walking!
When we returned, Bonnie and Cindy enjoyed cooling off in the water.
I decided to walk a little ways to the north to where the crowds began to thin out...
...and then headed back to the beach access.
After a couple of hours, the men returned from their 13,000 step walk!
It was a perfect beach day and it was so much fun talking and getting to know Cindy & John and Ernie & Noela.
We stayed at the beach until about 5 pm. Bonnie kept finding shark's teeth until the last minute!
After we left the beach, Ernie & Noela, Ken & Bonnie and Chuck & I drove to a Sonny's Barbecue near where Ernie & Noela are camped. It was Ernie & Noela's first time to go to Sonny's. The guys had the salad bar and the girls had the barbecue. That's seems opposite of what is should be, doesn't it? As usual, the food was delicious!
What a great day with more new friends! :)
