East to West Newfoundland

We packed up and left Blue Fin RV Park around 9:20.  It was a beautiful day for heading back west across Newfoundland.

We could have taken the ferry from Argentia back to Nova Scotia, but it costs 2 – 3 times as taking the ferry back from Port Aux Basques and takes 14 hours over rougher seas.  Plus, I still wanted to go to Twillingate which is to the northern edge of the middle of Newfoundland.

The weather was nice and our drive back was uneventful (thankfully).

We decided about an hour out to try to stay at Woolfrey’s Pond Park, a campground where Kurt and Joanna had stayed.  I’m glad I called ahead for reservations because we got the last site with electricity and water.

The entrance road to the campground was a dusty dirt road.

We were assigned site #6.  The pole for the electric and water services two sites:  one on each side.  We have seen this set up frequently in Newfoundland campgrounds.  However, it was located in the middle of the site rather than at the back of the site which meant we had to pull into the site to be able to reach the electric and water.

After getting set up, we went to the store to get some milk and drove around in town a little bit.  When we got back to the motorhome, we played Skip-Bo and watched a few more episodes of Lost.

An uneventful day but that’s OK.
