Pine Island B&B - Bike & Breakfast

With only 3 full days left at Pine Island, we had several things we wanted to do with Ken & Bonnie.  Today, was biking and breakfast day.  We rode our bikes from the center of the island north and had a delicious breakfast at the Raymary Street Grill.

After breakfast, we rode to the boat dock where we will be catching a ferry to Cayo Costa State Park tomorrow and then we rode around a couple of the streets at the north end of the island a lot of which had canals behind them where people could keep their boats docked.

Across the street from this canal, was a vacant waterfront lot with a gorgeous view.

We parked our bikes and walked over to explore the lot.

The palm trees were full of coconuts...

...and these little white ibis birds were walking across the back of the lot.  I think that is what they were.

We walked out to the water's edge to look out at the beautiful water.

We rode our bikes back to the center of town and then drove into Matlacha to pick up some more shrimp.  As we drove back to the campground, we saw an eagle and some buzzards eating something on the side of the road.  When we first drove by, I saw the eagle down on the ground with the buzzards but when we came back, the eagle was sitting up on the post watching the buzzards.

We had some more delicious grilled shrimp for dinner with Ken and Bonnie and Ed and Sandy.  Sandy is the activities director for the campground and she and her husband do a great job!  We're looking forward to the campground pool party she has planned on Wednesday!
