Our last days at Pine Island with Ken and Bonnie were planned almost to the minute. We met them at 8:15 this morning to walk our 10,000 steps for the day. Since all of us were leaving tomorrow, we had laundry, cleaning, and other "take-down" chores to get ready for moving tomorrow.
At 1:15, we met back up at the shuffleboard courts. The campground was having a pool party today also. I think just about everyone rode their bikes to the pool party.
Ken and Bonnie already had the pucks and the sticks ready for us to get started.
Bonnie and Chuck beat Ken and I in two games of shuffleboard. After shuffleboard, we went to the pool area in search of a place to sit. I think the entire campground turned out for the pool party.
They were having door prizes and free hamburgers and hot dogs. We shared a table with some other campers whom we had not met previously so we enjoyed getting to visit with them.
Chuck and Ken graciously gave the two last chairs at the table to Bonnie and me...
...and they pulled in a KOA bench near the shuffleboard court for them to sit on.
We decided to get in one more game of shuffleboard. Unfortunately, Bonnie and Chuck beat Ken and I worse the last game than they did the first two. Congratulations, Bonnie and Chuck! Let's get your championship picture.
Oops. Sorry about that. Let me try again. :)
Well, what do you know, I messed up the championship picture again. Imagine that. :)
Let me try again...
...oh, that's my shuffleboard partner, Ken. For some reason, Ken had trouble getting pictures of the champions too. (hee!hee!) :) That's what happens when the losers are in charge of the picture-taking. :)
All right, we're not going to be sore losers. Here's the shuffleboard champions: Chuck and Bonnie.
Ken and Bonnie came over to our RV later that evening for one more night of cards and games. Bonnie and I won at Pinochle. Ken and Chuck won a game of Sequence Dice. So we were all winners today!
We have had so much fun these past 2 weeks walking, biking, shuffleboarding, kayaking, playing games, going to Sanibel and Cayo Costa, and our first trip to Costco. We're looking forward to seeing them again for one more week in Eustis in March. Safe travels and have fun!
