While we were in Nashville, we kept trying to decide what
route to take when we headed west.
Should we go across the southern route through Arkansas and
Oklahoma? Or should we go a more
northern route through Iowa and South Dakota?
We decided to travel the northern route because we wanted to go through
Iowa where Cory's family lived.
One of the benefits of full-timing is you can take your time
traveling. Our first day west we only
traveled less than 3 hours stopping at a Corp of Engineers campground on Lake
Barkley in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.
The park had just a few full hookup sites but because we
were there in the middle of the week, we were able to get a beautiful site
facing the lake.
We did get our 10,000 steps in every day, but what we really
enjoyed just sitting and watching the river.
Lake Barkley was a nice start to our adventure west!
