Ho-Hum….

We drove to Carrabelle, Florida, on Friday, which only took about an hour.  We had heard of Carrabelle but had never been any further south than Appalachicola on the gulf side so we got to see some gulf coast line we had not seen before.

The park was right on the side of the road and all the sites were graveled.  In fact, the entire park was graveled.  Every time someone left, the maintenance man would come out and rake the graveled site to keep it nice and neat.

It was a nice park but most of the sites are close together.  We got lucky and got a site that had plenty of room on the patio side.  Some of the sites were right on the beach.

We went for a couple of walks and found starfish in the water – something we had never found before.  The beach was not as wide or long as Port St. Joe or Flagler Beach.

We walked out on the campground’s pier and just watched the ocean and the birds.  Very peaceful.

Below is a view of the campground from the pier.  The motorhomes on the beach sites faced the ocean and the fifth wheelers backed up to the ocean.  They did a good job of placing the hookups on the sites to accommodate this at this park.

We went to lunch/dinner twice at a local restaurant called Two Al’s which was great. And drove through the big metropolis of Carrabelle:

We were going to get ice cream at Carabelle Junction.  I thought Chuck got a whole bucketful but that's just a flower pot that was on the road.  It was closed.  :(

We drove through some of the back streets and found this nice pond full of lilypads (looks like it should be full of bass...and alligators):

and this beautiful bush loaded down with pink flowers:

It was time for Chuck to get his hair cut and me to get my hair colored.  (Don’t want those gray hairs shining though now, do we?)  So when we went into town for groceries I picked up a box of hair color and on Saturday night we opened the Gregory Barber and Beauty Shop.  I cut Chuck’s hair with the clippers and then Chuck colored my hair.  And I must say… he did a very good job.  Even my hairstylist said so when we got back home.
