On to Lake George NY

We said our good-byes to Fred and Dolores and left the campground around 7:30.  We headed up the Garden State Parkway along the coast of New Jersey...

...and then got on I-287 around New York City before getting on I-87 for most of the way up to Lake George in New York.  Once we were on I-87, we began to see the Catskill mountains in the distance but not many of the trees are changing colors yet.

We crossed over the Mohawk River on the Thaddeus Kosciuszcko Bridge.

When we were within about 20 miles of the campground, Bonnie noticed that the Rand McNally GPS looked to be taking us a very long way around to the campground as compared to Google maps.  She called the campground but no one could give her directions (which was ridiculous).   We decided to follow the GPS in case there was a low bridge or something that might been a problem on the Google maps.  However, the roads we traveled were worse and it took us about 30 minutes longer to get to the campground than it should have.  We got to the campground safely but we were aggravated that no one at the campground could give us directions.

After checking in, we drove back to our sites and ended up switching sites so we could get out with satellite.  Although we had to do some tree-trimming to get our rigs into the sites, they do offer a lot of privacy.

Ken & Bonnie's site across the street from us.
Our site is a little more open but has a lot of privacy as well.

After getting set up, we went for a walk around the campground which is huge.  The Schroon River surrounds a lot of the campground.

With the sun beginning to set, the fall colors on some of the trees were beginning to pop out.

After dinner, Ken and Bonnie came over to our camper so we could watch the Finale episode of America's Got Talent that we had recorded last week but had not been able to watch.  We played a couple of games of Pinochle before calling it a night around 10.
