Chuck played most Thursday nights too at the Hermitage Community Center and we played a couple of nights with Donald & Anna and Kevin & Karen.
We have met so many nice people and good pickleball players at the Mt. Juliet gym. We even went to watch several of them play in a pickleball tournament over Labor Day Weekend at Lipscomb University that had about 180 participants of all ages and from as far away as Ohio and Georgia.
Susan and Linda were some of the first to play. |
R.J. is always ready! |
Bruce and Colin won their first set... |
...as did Linda and Nina. |
Chuck and I took one day and played golf at Riverside Golf Course but the course was in terrible shape. The grass in the fairways was tall...
...and the greens were very rough.
Chuck and I are not very good golfers and bad golf players on a bad golf course just don't mix. Not only did we lose balls in the rough, We lost balls in the fairways as well because the grass was so tall and deep, we couldn't see them.
Can you find the ball? |
We always have fun playing golf but we were both glad when we reached the 18th hole of this course!
The weather in Nashville was hot, hot, hot. We did have one Saturday where we got a lot of rain...
...which of course just made it humid, humid, humid. :)
We got to spend a lot of time with my mom which was really nice. We ate dinner together most nights and enjoyed watching the Summer Olympics and the Little League World Series together. We also got to visit my Uncle John & Aunt Milbrey who also live in Donelson and had a tasty breakfast at IHOP with my mom and my Uncle Clif.
On Labor Day, we went up to Donald and Anna's for a cookout where we enjoyed lots of good food,
fun,
and fellowship.
On the Tuesday after Labor Day, we took the motorhome in to Cullum & Maxey to get the two rear slide-out toppers replaced and the front passenger side slide-out seal replaced that had come loose. Yep, 2016 is definitely the year of getting things fixed on the motorhome. I guess we've been pretty lucky though!
I doubt that we will be able to play with such experienced players again.
ReplyDeleteWe will just have to sit on the sidelines and cheer you on.
