On to Wisconsin

We really liked D&W Lake RV Park and might would have considered staying a little longer since we weren't feeling very well but the site was not available through the weekend.  We didn't feel that bad.  Just our throats were hurting and I had started coughing a little more.

Before we left Champaign, we had to make a decision which way to go.  Our reservations at Baileys Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin, don't begin until Sunday.  Most of the campgrounds I had checked on in the southern part of Wisconsin were full or did not have full hookups I guess because of the summer weekend and possibly because of the FMCA rally starting Wednesday of next week in Madison, Wisconsin.  I found a site in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, along Lake Michigan, but that would mean traveling around Chicago and Milwaukee on a Friday which probably wasn't too good of an idea.

So, we decided to travel to a little bitty town north of Madison, Wisconsin, called Hancock, where a brand new KOA was located that had plenty of sites available.  Except for the roads being very rough in places and a traffic slowdown in Madison, we had no problems and arrived at the KOA a little after three.

It was the nicest entrance to a KOA I think we have ever seen.

All the sites are 50 amp full-hookup and level.

They have a pool and the office is a big log cabin structure.

After we got set up, I started looking for walk-in clinics because neither of us were feeling any better.  I found a clinic open about 22 miles north of here so we got in the car and drove to Plover, Wisconsin.  The clinic was not busy and we got checked in at the same time.  They asked us if we wanted to just go to the same room to wait for the doctor since we were married and both sick with similar symptoms and we said sure.

The nurse came in and took my vitals first and then began asking about all my symptoms, medications, etc.  After she took Chuck's vitals, she started asking about his symptoms.  When she started asking about medications, Chuck started opening his mouth but I started responding for Chuck.  We got tickled because it was like I was the ventriloquist and Chuck was the puppet.  Then, the doctor came in, looked at our ears, throats, felt our heads and glands in our necks, and listened to our lungs and heart and said we both have some type of respiratory infection the only difference being Chuck's was more in his throat and sinuses and mine was more in my throat and chest.  He prescribed some antibiotics for us to start taking.

After leaving the clinic, we drove to Wal-Mart to pick up our prescriptions and more chicken noodle soup and then headed back home.  After eating some soup, and taking our first dose of antibiotics, we went to bed hoping to feel much better in the morning!  :)
