Back in Nashville -- Visiting with Friends and Family

During our 18 day stay in Nashville, we had dinner with my mom almost every night which was, of course, very special for all of us.  Thank you, mom, for all the dinners, laundry and shower facilities!  :)  We love you and miss you already!

We also went to dinner one night with our long-time friends, Pam and Walter Demonbreun.  After dinner, they came back to the motorhome and we taught them how to play 7-Up and played a game of Spades which was involved a lot of fun and laughter.

Our last weekend in Nashville was filled with lots of fun and busy little girls.  Tafanie, Cory, Bell, Emmaline and Ruby came up and stayed with mama while Crystal, Avery and Hannah stayed with us at the motorhome.  We missed having Grant with us too but he had to work this weekend.  :(

Crystal and the girls got to the motorhome in time on Friday for us to go to the pool at the campground.

Mama had not seen the Van Wyngardens since Christmas.  It didn't take long for Bell and Emmaline to get in the chair with GiGi which she loved of course!

And Ruby is a lot bigger than when we last saw her.

On Saturday morning, Crystal and I took Hannah and Avery to the playground.  Hannah loved the merry-go-round.

Tafanie and Cory brought their girls over around 10 am so we could all go to the swimming pool.  Getting five little girls ready for the pool in a motorhome can be a little challenging.  :)

After getting everyone all covered with sunscreen and distributing swim gear and towels, each adult took or carried a precious little girl and headed to the pool.  Since there was one adult per precious little girl, we didn't take any pictures.  (Sorry!)  But we all had a lot of fun.  Avery and Bell got brave enough to jump into the pool to a waiting parent or grandparent.  Emmaline liked riding in the toddler float while Ruby almost took a nap in another toddler float.  Hannah had fun too but was the most challenging because she thought she could just take off and swim.

Tafanie and Cory took their girls back to my mom's for lunch and naps while Crystal and her girls had lunch and naps at our motorhome.  We went back to my mom's later that afternoon so we could all be together.

For dinner, we had Bar-B-Cutie barbecue and all the fixins' which every one enjoyed.

And, since we were all together, GiGi decided we should celebrate Ruby's first birthday a couple of weeks early!  :)

After all that good barbecue and strawberry cake, GiGi's kitchen needed a good cleaning as well as all our granddaughters.  They can't wait to get into GiGi's big tub!

Chuck went back with Crystal to the motorhome when it was time for Avery and Hannah to go to bed while I stayed and visited with Tafanie and Cory a little while longer.  When I got back to the motorhome, Avery and Hannah were sound asleep.  Crystal, Chuck and I play a very close game of 7-Up and a game of SkipBo before calling it a night.

On Sunday morning, we all went back over to GiGi's.  Avery and Bell and GiGi had fun playing with GiGi's playdoh.  I think GiGi did too!  :)

Then, Bell asked if we could play "Let's Go On a Bear Hunt!" which, of course, I agreed to.  :)

Four little girls and one MiMa going on a bear hunt!

Climbing the mountain to look for the bear.

Even little Ruby got in on the bear hunt!  :)
All too soon, it was time for the Robinsons and the Van Wyngardens to head back to Atlanta.  MiMa got to hold onto Ruby for a few more minutes.

And GiGi got one more picture of us and all the Van Wyngardens!  :)

I think GiGi (my mom) would agree:  what a great weekend!

On Tuesday before we left Nashville, we went to Top Hog in Gallatin with Donald and Anna and ate way, way too much.

"We can't believe we ate the WHOLE thing!"
Funny thing is, the "whole thing" was not barbecue but fish.  Top Hog's fried catfish dinner is delicious and once again, Chuck and I told each other:  "Next time, we HAVE to split the dinner."   Maybe next time we will finally remember to split one dinner rather than ordering two. Their food is so good and their prices are so reasonable but their servings are HUGE!  After dinner, we went back to Donald and Anna's and played 7-Up and SkipBo.  Another fun evening!  :)

On Wednesday evening, our last evening in Nashville, we took mama out to dinner at Chuy's and then went back to her condo for a little while to use her laundry and shower facilities one more time!  :)

Where are we headed next?  Due north.  We're planning on traveling around the Great Lakes region in Wisconsin and Michigan and then head to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the Little League World Series in August where we will hook up with Ken and Bonnie to begin a lot of traveling together this fall.  WE CAN'T WAIT!!  :)
