A new roof and a new tooth

We left Wilderness RV Park a little before 8 am on Thursday to drive the motorhome back up to RVRoof.com in Green Cove Springs.  It was foggy when we left and raining by the time we reached their shop so we got our feet nice and wet disconnecting the car from the motorhome.

After going over some final questions we had for David and Jennifer, we left the motorhome and headed for St. Augustine.  On the way to St. Augustine, I called a couple of different dentists trying to find someone who could check Chuck's tooth out.  St. John's Family Dentistry told us to come on in and they would work him in.

Now for the good news, the "maybe" good news, and the bad news:

The good news is we didn't have to wait long after arriving at their office. :)
The bad news was that Chuck is going to need a crown. :(
The "maybe" good news is that the dentist does not think he will need a root canal. :)
The bad news is that the dentist cannot do the crown until Tuesday. :(
The good news is that the crown can be done in one day. :)
The bad news is that it is a crown and, as with all crowns, is very expensive. :(
The good news is that the tooth is not hurting him and he will just need to be very careful chewing. :)

After leaving the dentist, we headed for the hotel where we will be staying for the next couple of days while the sprayed-on roof is being installed.  Although our reservation stated that we could not check in until 3:00 pm, we stopped at the hotel office to see if we could check in earlier.  The hotel clerk said our room would be ready in about an hour.

We had not eaten lunch yet so we drove to a restaurant recommended by the hotel clerk called The Sunset Grille.  We decided to split a salad and a sandwich.  Normally, I always choose something familiar like a burger for a sandwich.  But hey, it's a new year and, to Chuck's surprise, I chose their
"Mowie Wowie Mahi Sandwich."  Both the salad and the sandwich were VERY good.  :)

After lunch, we checked into our room and both of us took a nice long nap.  We didn't do much the rest of the day except watch the Sugar Bowl.  Even though our UT Vols didn't make it to a bowl this year, we always pull for whatever SEC team is in a bowl game.  Unfortunately, Alabama must be suffering from the "we-thought-we-would-be-playing-in-the-National-Championship" blues and let Oklahoma beat and beat 'em good.  We'll still be pulling for Missouri in the Cotton Bowl, Vandy in the BBVA Compass Bowl, and Auburn in the National Championship.  Maybe next year we will get to watch our UT Vols back in a bowl game again!   :)
