and
stayed the weekend through the 9th at Two Rivers CG. The people were very nice but their
electricity would spike sometimes causing our surge guard to shut off our
electricity.
We had planned on staying at Seven Points COE on Percy
Priest but the site I had reserved was not level at all.
So we ended up back at Jellystone, where we stayed in
January. Expensive, but at least we were
conveniently located to everyone.
Because we were going to be here at least a couple of more weeks, it was
cheaper for us to just pay the monthly rate and get our electricity metered.
In addition to doctor and dentist appointments, we had to
get new slide-topper awnings installed because one of the slide toppers had
ripped loose.
We visited with mama and she fed us dinner…a lot. And when we weren’t eating dinner with mama,
we were eating out with Donald & Anna and crew and Jerry and Pam.
And Crystal and Grant came in one weekend so they could tell
my mom that she was going to be a great-grandmother again. They’re pregnant! We’re going to have two grandchildren!!
It was great getting to visit with everyone again. Chuck got several golf games in with Donald,
Maxey and Ronnie and we got together to play card games with family several
times. Chuck finally got all his golf
lessons in and showed Donald what he had learned in the parking lot of Painturos.
We had trouble with our electricity partially going out
again a couple of more times while we were at Jellystone. The problem was not due to electricity issues at the campground like what we experienced at Two Rivers. It was the same problem we had experienced a few times in Florida. It was the craziest thing because while the
air conditioning and microwave and lights would stop working, the plugs and
refrigerator would keep working on electricity. We knew it would be hard for an RV repair service to determine what the
problem was unless the electricity went out and stayed out. But Chuck got some advice from Cullum & Maxey RV Service on what to check
the next time it went out again.
And, thankfully, it finally went out and stayed out while we
were still at Jellystone, where we could get it fixed right next door at Cullum
& Maxey. Unfortunately, they were
covered up and would not be able to work on it for a couple of weeks. So now what are we going to do.
Chuck studied the part that needed to be replaced, a
solenoid, and felt like he could replace it.
I was apprehensive particularly when you see all the boards and wires:
But after he showed me where it looked like a couple of
connections that needed to be undone, I agreed with him to give it a try. Fortunately, Cullum & Maxey had the
solenoid in stock. And sure enough,
Chuck replaced the solenoid within about 30 minutes and everything started
working again. Yippee!!
We hugged and kissed all our family good-bye and headed out back
on the road again on May 2nd.
