Pre-Christmas in San Antonio

While Chuck went golfing with the boys on the Monday before Christmas, I took advantage of the time to get the motorhome cleaned inside.  It always feels so good to have a nice clean home.  And the advantage of our size living quarters is that I can have the entire place vacuumed, bathrooms cleaned, completely dusted and mopped in a little over an hour!  :)

Gloria stopped by and said she, Joslyn, Nancy were going to lunch together and invited me along.  I had just gotten started making my lasagna for this evening's pot luck dinner at the campground but I wasn't about to pass up on lunch with the girls!  :)  I finished getting my sauce made and put aside and I was ready to go.

We decided to go to Olive Garden for the endless soup and salad and it was SO GOOOD!!!!!   We enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch and then headed for the mall so Nancy could look for some new cookware for her induction stovetop in her new motorhome.  An induction stovetop requires a pot that is magnetized.  Nancy brought a small magnet with her and we started checking out all the pots at Macy's and Penney's to try to find out which pots were magnetized.  We determined that only the stainless steel cookware is magnetized which is kind of a bummer because she really wanted something with a non-stick surface inside.

After we finished our shopping, we headed back to the campground and I finished fixing my lasagna for the potluck dinner.  We had a few minutes to sit outside after the boys got back from golf.  There was a beautiful sunset Monday evening.

We all went to the potluck and there was lots of good food.  All of it was delicious and very little was left (including my lasagna).  :)

On Tuesday, Warren & Joslyn drove back to Arkansas for Christmas and Tim & Nancy flew to Wisconsin for Christmas.  Terry and Gloria invited us to dinner with Lyn and Janet from Prince Edward Island who had just arrived and who we had not met previously.  We all went to dinner at Capparelli's, a quiet little Italian restaurant about 15 minutes from the campground.

We enjoyed not only a delicious meal but also getting to know  Lyn and Janet.  Janet had walked a 500 mile pilgrimage this past September & October in Spain and France and it was so interesting listening to her tell us about her journey.  You meet the nicest and most interesting people in campgrounds!!  :)

After dinner, we returned home and began packing for our trip to Nashville and Atlanta on Christmas Eve.  I had done most of the Christmas shopping online and had everything shipped out so we had just a few presents to take with us.  After we finished packing, Chuck moved the owl to hopefully keep the doves scared away from perching in the tree branches and pooping on top of the motorhome.  We're growing kind of fond of our Security Owl.  :)

Terry offered to take us to the airport on Wednesday morning and we were so thankful that he did.  It saved us not only the cost of parking but the hassle of parking.  Thank you, Terry!!!  :)
