Side ride and neighborhood ducks.

Whenever we arrive at a new place, I always check out the nearby bike trails on Google maps.  I saw there was a rail trail not too far away in Kennebunk so on Thursday we rode over there to check it out.  Like the Pennsylvania rail trail, the path was well-packed, shaded, and had very little incline.

The trailhead starts at Kennebunk Elementary School and then crosses I-95.

The trail has a nice bridge…

…that crosses a small creek.

You could still see the old concrete railroad bridge supports on the banks.

We had just commented about how you don’t see many snakes up here and then we almost ran over this little snake on the way back.

We crossed back over I-95 on the way back.

That’s me on the bridge.

After we got back to the RV, we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather when some new neighbors walked by.

You can’t hardly see the mama and her babies in the picture because they blend in with the surroundings.  Those baby ducks followed their mama wherever she went.
