Bath Iron Works builds navy ships.
Saltwater Farms is located right outside of Thomaston down a
long dusty driveway…
We were given site
#15 which had a nice view of the harbor.
Surprisingly, even though it seemed like we were in the
middle of nowhere, the internet and cell phone coverage was great.
On Tuesday, we decided to drive to the nearest Walgreens which
was in Belfast, Maine, to get Chuck’s prescriptions refilled before going into
Canada. While in Belfast, we had lunch
at Weathervane Seafoods on the docks at Belfast.
On the way back to the campground, we took this picture of
the beautiful Maine coastline.
On Wednesday, we decided to check out the walking trail down
to the harbor.
We found a plank that went down to the harbor.
There were some blackberries and daisies in bloom along the
path. Chuck still needs to work on his
picture taking skills:
Maybe he was focusing on the grass. His picture of the daisies was much better:
After our short hike, we sat on the swing…
…and watched the boats go by.
From where we sat you could see several farms across the
harbor. Can you see the barn?
How about now?
(I love zooming!)
I asked Chuck to take a picture of us on the swing. (He's still working on his photography skills.) :)
OK..now take a picture of our faces.
There was not a lot to do at Saltwater Farms; but that was
o.k. Because of the good internet
connection, I got caught up on some work and on the blog. And in the evenings, we would just sit
outside and enjoy the view.
