When we were in San Antonio, we had noticed our next door neighbors, Patrick and Kimberly, cooking pizza on their grill and have wanted to try it ourselves. We just so happened to have a griddle that would fit on our grill so we grilled our first pizza:
Other than overcooking the crust a little bit, it was very delicious!
I tweaked a muscle in my upper left back from all the fun golf we have been playing so the last couple of days I walked with Chuck as he played and then just pitched and putted at the greens. These two weeks have been a great start for me learning how to play and have been good practice for both of us. We played 9 or 10 rounds of golf over the last two weeks and all for free because we walked the course and were camped there.
We left Wanee on Wednesday and stopped in Stone Mountain for 3 nights before heading back to Tennessee. When we were getting set up, the shade for our dining table window malfunctioned and started to pull out of the bottom trim when it got hung on a valance. Most likely what happened is the shade was outside the valance when I was raising it and I didn't realize it and stop it in time and then it got hung on the valance.
Not only did the shade get pulled from the trim but the stops when it was raised and lowered weren't working. As anyone with an RV can tell you, it seems like there is always something to be fixed. Chuck worked on the trim first and then found the knobs to adjust the stops. Of course, the little knobs are in the most difficult place to get to: on the back and top of the roller which is under the valance. After patiently and persistently adjusting and working on the shade, he finally got it fixed. He's the man!
On Friday afternoon,Crystal, Avery and Hannah came over and we cooled off in the pool for about 30 minutes.
On Friday evening, all the kids and grandkids came over for a "fancy" meal of hot dogs. :) Our five little granddaughters provided all the entertainment as they always do and for dessert we had fruit popsicles.
They showed us all the many ways to eat a popsicle:
With a bowl! |
Sitting on a picnic blanket! |
Laying down! |
The best way: with all your cousins! |
After getting set up and eating some lunch, we rode back to Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries. They had signs on the door welcoming 90,000+ fans expected to come to the annual 4-day Bonnaroo Music Festival that begins on Thursday.
They also had lots and lots of beer. I felt like we were back at Daytona. :)
Later that evening, I took a short walk around the campground. I stopped and talked with the couple sitting outside their nice Essex. The man had fallen off his ladder earlier in the afternoon and broken his arm. We talked about how quickly accidents can happen and even when you think you are being so careful. He's not able to drive and his wife doesn't drive the motorhome either so a friend of theirs is flying down to drive their motorhome back home to Wisconsin where he will have surgery on his arm. Fortunately, he's not in a lot of pain so long as he doesn't move his arm.
A little family of ducks came waddling by while we were talking.
They were so cute and had fun playing in the puddles just like some other kids we know. :)
We leave for Nashville tomorrow going straight to Cullum & Maxey to get our slide-out topper awning replaced. It will be nice getting our slide-out out again. :)
