After picking up the camper, we drove to the KOA near Lebanon, Tennessee. The campground we normally stay out in Nashville were full because of the Country Music Festival that was going on that week. We wouldn't have stayed there anyways because both the KOA and Jellystone in Nashville were charging nearly $90 a night! Ridiculous!!
Mama fixed us a delicious home-cooked dinner Monday night and then we went to dinner with Donald and Anna Tuesday night. We had a couple of doctor's appointments while we were in town and got a couple of games of pickleball in too.
On Friday (June 10th), we drove to Crossville, Tennessee, where we were meeting up with Warren & Joslyn for a few days at Spring Lake RV Park. We had sites right next to each other...
...and with all the good shade, we enjoyed sitting outside and talking and laughing a lot.
We fixed some delicious dinners together and on Sunday, we took Warren and Joslyn over to see Fall Creek Falls which is about an hour away. As usual, the park was not letting a lot of water over the falls so the tallest waterfalls west of the Mississippi River was down to just a trickle.
But it was a perfect day to see Fall Creek Falls...
...and, best of all, to enjoy some Fall Creek Falls ice cream!
On Monday, we played a round of golf at River Run Golf Course in Crossville. River Run is a nice course and very challenging too. We had so much fun playing golf with Warren & Joslyn and they helped the beginner golfer (me) with some good pointers.
Joslyn drove it clean over the water! You go, girl! |
The shortest hole was an island with a swinging bridge! |
After saying our good-byes on Wednesday, Chuck and I drove into Crossville to run a few errands and on the way back, we stopped at Miss Miller's Donut Stand.
Miss Miller's donuts are the biggest we have ever seen! They are so big we had to split it!
On Friday, Chuck and I played golf at River Run again.

On Saturday, we decided to drive back to Nashville to spend the day with my mom. We first stopped at several stores looking for a couple of zero gravity recliners to have for sitting outside. We got rid of the two outdoor recliners we had when we first started full-timing because they were so heavy and took up too much room. I found one for me at Dick's Sporting Goods and Chuck found one for him at Bass Pro Shops. We set them up in my mom's garage to try them out.
We had a nice lunch at Painturo's with my mom and an even nicer day hanging out with my mom all day Saturday.
On Father's Day, Chuck opened his Father's Day cards from the girls...
...and we enjoyed kicking back in our recliners and just enjoying the afternoon.
Later that afternoon, I talked Chuck into going up to Fairfield Glade to play a little pickleball on their outdoor courts. We practiced a little bit and then played three good games. When you're playing singles, you tend to run around the court a little more but we still had fun.
When we got back to the camper, it was time to kick back and just R-E-L-A-X.
Ahhh! :) |
With the awning out, we could still enjoy kicking back in our recliners in a little shade.
On Wednesday, we played another round of golf at River Run. Let's just say it was not our best day of golf but we enjoy the challenge of continuing to try to improve our game!
On Thursday, we went to Wal-mart to try to get stocked up on most of the groceries we would be needing for the next two weeks while we are at Fall Creek Falls.
Think we got enough??? |
