Out of Michigan and Into Indiana

We left Honcho Rest Campground in Elk Rapids, Michigan, a little after 8 am.  We knew we would be driving some country roads for a few miles this morning through farmland...

...and forests.

Just south of Manton, Michigan, we got on Hwy 131 which was more like an interstate than a US Highway and with better roads!

We drove through Grand Rapids, Michigan,

and Kalamazoo, Michigan (sorry no pictures) and continued heading due south on US Hwy 131.  Some of the leaves on the trees are already starting to change!  In 80 degree weather!  What's up with that???

South of Kalamazoo, US 131 turns back into a "country road" which is what we were on when we entered the great state of Indiana.

We stopped at a nearby BP to fill up with diesel and paid the lowest price for diesel since we have been fulltiming:  $2.38 per gallon!  We need to just drive and drive and drive and drive... I'm just kidding, Chuck!

We arrived at the Elkhart 4-H County Fairgrounds a little after 1 pm and found us a site on #450.

The fairgrounds has 288 campsites and many of them are full hookup with 50 amp service.  I think they have a lot of rallies here and with all the nearby RV manufacturers, I'm not surprised.  But there was nothing going on at the Elkhart 4-H County Fairgrounds right now other than a few campers like us enjoying the campground.

Thankfully, we had a nice day of driving today and we plan to go on a couple of motorhome factory tours over the next couple of days.
