On Wednesday, Donald and Anna rode with us out to see Fall Creek Falls.
Unfortunately, the falls are controlled by a dam and for some reason they were really holding back the water. Fall Creek Falls looked more like Fall Creek Dribble.
Chuck and I rode our bikes almost every morning the first week usually between 10 and 11 miles. The traffic during the week was minimal so we would just ride on the road out to the golf course and back and out to the entrance of the park. There was a bench close to the entrance and we would usually park our bikes there, drink some water, and rest a few minutes before heading back to our campsite.
As the week progressed, more of our Fall Creek Falls family continued to arrive. The weather was hot that first week but good for playing corn hole. Chuck and Anna partnered up right away...
...and no one was able to beat them the entire two weeks!
Sunday mornings are one of our favorite things at Fall Creek Falls. There is something very special about hearing the sound of your brothers and sisters in Christ singing together and being able to worship together in the midst of our Father's beautiful creation.
Skipper gave us a heartfelt and inspiring message. Thank you, Skipper! |
The Rock Hoppers were picked up by Renee and rode in the back of their truck back to the campsites while we rode our bikes along the Fall Creek Falls bike trail and then back to the campsites.
On Tuesday, Chuck got to go on a scooter ride with Brent on one of his scooters. :)
There are a lot of deer at Fall Creek Falls and they are not very skiddish like most deer. There is no hunting allowed in the park and there are no natural predators so they don't have much to be afraid of.
This particular deer was a frequent visitor to Donald and Anna's campsite.
Maybe because Anna would feed her carrots?? :)
Of course, we were frequent visitors too. We got spoiled to all the nightly treats like brownies, s'mores, homemade ice cream, Darlene's peach cobbler, and Renee's apple dumplins.
I REALLY like Renee's apple dumplins! :) |
Of course, with all this hard work, it's really nice to just kick back and relax some too. :)
And Donald knew just the place to really relax! :)
