Back Down to Hudson FL for Window Repair

After saying our good-byes to Donald & Anna and Jerry & Pam on Monday morning, we pulled out of the campground in Pensacola and began driving toward Suncoast Designs in Hudson, Florida, where we had an appointment to get our shattered bedroom window replaced on Wednesday morning.

Within a few miles of getting on I-10 heading east, we were crossing Escambia Bay.  We had a nice sunny day for driving!

We had decided to break up our 405 mile drive from Pensacola RV Park to Suncoast Designs into a two day drive.  We drove east on I-10 until we reached Exit 225 and then began heading south on Hwy 19 which would take us all the way to Hudson, Florida.

After driving about 255 miles for the day, we stopped at a nice little KOA in Perry, Florida, around 3 pm.  We parked in a pull-through site and left the car hooked up because we weren't planning on going anywhere.

While Chuck rested for a little while, I walked around the campground.

Later that evening, we walked back to the field at the back of the campground to try to catch the sunset and got there just as the sun was finished sinking beyond the horizon.

On Tuesday, we had a leisurely 150 mile drive further south to Hudson, Florida.  Hwy 19 joins up with Hwy 98 in Perry and is a very good 4 lane road all the way taking you through Florida's Nature Coast.

It's hard to believe as you drive through the Nature Coast that Florida is now the 3rd most populated state in the country!  It was not until we reached Crystal River that the traffic began to get heavier.  From Crystal River on down, the towns are closer together and much more populated.

We arrived at Suncoast Designs in Hudson, Florida, around 1:30 and backed into to one of their sites where they provide water and 50 amp electric to their RV customers having their windows replaced.

By 7:15 am on Wednesday morning, they had pulled the bedroom window out and began working on replacing the glass.  It took a little longer than we had anticipated for them to replace the glass but they had the window reinstalled around 1 pm.  Since it was so late in the afternoon and since Suncoast Designs was not that busy yet, we decided to stay Wednesday night as well and begin heading north on Thursday morning.
